Alonzo and his wife Leila are two of the most incredible people that I have ever come across. I was having problems in my marriage, and they were referred to us by a mutual friend. I have known Alonzo Johnson for over 8 years from our church, The Rock Church of Temecula Valley. I trained under Alonzo on the leadership teams for both the Marriage and Men’s Ministries. Additionally, I completed a yearlong discipleship program under Alonzo. I would eventually go on to succeed Alonzo as the head leader in both of those ministries. Alonzo has been and will continue to be a spiritual mentor in my life.

I attended a class on communication and it helped me focus and fine tune some areas of self-development. The interactive exercises opened my eyes to several blind spots that revealed a lot about myself. I am more conscious how I respond to others so that I won’t leave the wrong impression. Yes You Can Leadership help me hone my leadership skills. I was task oriented which hurt my relationship with my team. They began to lose trust in me and gradually lost the joy in serving. I didn’t realize what I was doing until I did an exercise in a session that invited me to look at the areas of scarcity in my life. It was said “Wealth is the value you create for someone other than you”. I realize I was not creating value for others, I was accomplishing unnecessary things that didn’t build relationships with the people in my life. I began to work on myself and my leadership took a different focus that enhanced the relationships I have in my life. Yes You Can is a gift to the body of Christ.
